Paul Wilkinson, Ph.D.

Paul Wilkinson has served for the previous 2 years as adult groups minister associate at the Brentwood Campus of Brentwood Baptist Church where he oversees adult groups and adult education on campus. His primary work consists of training new leaders, developing existing leaders, and launching new groups. He also teaches and trains in apologetics and worldview for Brentwood Baptist Church.
He received a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of South Carolina and his Ph.D. in Philosophy of Religion from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. His work focused on the integration of science and theology, philosophical theology, and the history of philosophy. He wrote his dissertation on how epistemology influenced the divergence between Alvin Plantinga and Robert John Russell’s views of God’s action in the world. Paul is also interested in philosophy of mind, the metaphysics of causation, epistemology, and ethics.
Paul is married to Shelly who teaches math at Hillsboro High School. They live in the Bellevue area of Nashville, TN. They have a passion for global mission work, particularly in the areas of education and poverty, and travel to such areas as much as possible.
